Trauma and Shock Integration

Trauma and Shock Integration

For those carrying unprocessed shock, grief or life events that won’t resolve.

This is for you if:

  • Something happened and you haven’t felt right since
  • You’ve talked about it with family and friends and maybe in therapy but your body is still holding it
  • You experience hypervigilance, jumpiness, teariness or feeling constantly on edge
  • Grief, shock, trauma from loss or betrayal, medical crisis, chronic illness (you or your loved one) or sudden change/ event/ situation
  • You feel stuck in your nervous system (frozen, numb or disconnected)
  • You understand what happened intellectually but the relief hasn’t come

What’s really happening?

Trauma comes from the Greek word for ‘wound’ and it’s our woundedness, or how we’ve learned to cope with it, that shapes our behavior, our relationships, and our capacity to think clearly and authentically.

“Trauma is not the bad things that happened to you – it’s what happens inside of you because of the bad things that happened.” “People are much more lonely and isolated than they used to be – literally it causes inflammation and immune stress in the body”

Dr. Gabor Maté

Trauma (the wound) isn’t in your head. It’s stored in your nervous system and subconscious as a protective program that’s still running. Your body responds as if the threat is happening now, even though consciously you know it’s over. And here’s what creates so much confusion: your autopilot activates the physical response first (the tightness, the fear, the sensation, the curt response or internalised anger eruption) and then, within a fraction of a second, your conscious mind finds something in your present reality to pin it on. A person. A comment. A situation. But your body was already reacting before your mind even knew why.

The beliefs we address

Using PSYCH-K® we identify and transform the core programs activating your trauma response, some examples could be:

  • Hypervigilance formed during or after a traumatic event or prolonged exposure to situations
  • All layers and forms of the four major stress responses in the your autonomic nervous system (Fight, flight, freeze, fawn)
  • Beliefs formed in the moment (‘I’m not safe”, “I have to hide”, “I’m to blame”, “I can’t trust anyone”.)
  • Grief that has become identity (“I’m the one who lost …”) (“My career ended because of …”)
  • Survival patterns that were once essential but are now exhausting (relationship issues, financial issues etc.)

What changes?

The weight lifts, your body releases what it’s been holding (at a pace that is safe for you). You begin to feel lighter, more present, more yourself again. The past becomes just that, the past. Instead of a sequence of physical, mental and emotional responses taking over every day.
